Bring home or send some Orange Sunshine from California! Instead of tossing the pieces of glass I trim off of the Window Tiles, I saved them and now am re-cutting, shaping, drilling, painting and designing them to make a beautiful mix of a Suncatcher and a Windchime, thus I’m calling them “Sunchimes”! I was inspired by the glass windchimes I adored that I would get as a child from China Town in San Francisco! This one has one hoop with eight strands and one center strand. Four strands consist of 2″x8″ columns with a small triangle or rectangle on the top and they end with either yellow or green 2″ glass teardrops. The other four strands consist of thin columns (1/2″ – 1″) and a 2″ triangle ending in 3 color coodinated shading crystals. The center strand has an antique white opalescent flower curtain tieback, one glass clanger and a glass windsail at the bottom finished with yellow and clear crystals. I’ve added yellow, dark yellow/orange, clear and three shades of green crystals throughout. Topping the Sunchime is a vintage crimped milk glass lamp shade that sits over the brass hoop of the Sunchime. This sunchime has lovely, light and pretty tones of a windchime plus it sparkles like a suncatcher! I do recommend taking it down if the winds are super strong as it is made of glass. It’s great for a happy greeting on the front porch, inside the house in front of a window for some soothing melodic tones while eating or reading, etc., or perfect for livening up the backyard. It makes a perfect gift as well! This one is 35″ long from top brass hanging loop to bottom of drop on the windsail and is 8″ wide. The column pieces are roughly 8″ long and 1/2-2″ wide, The triangles are roughly 2.5″ to 4.5″. The rectangle pieces are approximately 1-1 1/2″. Each piece and sunchime is unique! Etsy does not let me upload a video with sound, so if you want a small clip with sound, message me and I’ll send it to you!
